Pods House
Casa unifamiliar en un predio con vista al mar en Nueva Gales del Sur, Australia . Desde un principio el cliente fijo su postura: La casa debía tener la forma de un huevo y ser resuelta en un solo nivel.
Los primeros anteproyectos se plantearon con un solo volumen, sin embargo, eso derivó en alturas muy grandes para poder conservar la tipología del huevo, por lo que al final se decidió resolver el proyecto con dos volúmenes ovoides, uno para la zona social y el otro para la íntima, unidos por un corredor estrecho y bajo.
La edificación se elevó un nivel por dos motivos: Para que las vistas de la casa hacia el mar no se vieran interrumpidas por autos o gente pasando enfrente y porque no debía existir ninguna valla perimetral que protegiera el terreno y por seguridad, al elevarla, se logró un único acceso a la casa por una escalera situada en la parte trasera, esto permitió la ubicación de la cochera a cubierto bajo la casa. El terreno debía estar sembrado con grandes rocas y vegetación de poco consumo de agua para minimizar el mantenimiento e integrar las dos grandes vainas.
The design of a single-family house was carried out in an ocean-view property in New South Wales, Australia. From the beginning, the client set his position: The house should have the shape of an egg and be solved on one level.
The first preliminary plans were raised with a single volume, however, that resulted in very high heights to preserve the typology of egg, so in the end it was decided to solve the project with two ovoid volumes, one for the social area and the other for the intimate, connected by a narrow and low corridor.
The building was raised one level for two reasons: So that the views of the house towards the sea were not interrupted by cars or people passing in front and because there should be no perimeter fence to protect the land and for security, when raising it, achieved a single access to the house by a staircase located in the back, this allowed the location of the garage under the house. The land should be planted with large rocks and vegetation with little water consumption to minimize maintenance and integrate the two large pods.
